Room Areas and Exposed Perimeters

The exposed perimeter, or ‘heat loss perimeter’, of a room or a particular part of a dwelling is the total length of the walls exposed to the exterior.   It is very important that heat loss perimeters are identified correctly because their extent will affect the heat loss calculation and the energy rating of a property.
