Following the revisions to RDSAP in April of this year, we have produced a new RDSAP Manual.  This is available to download in the Useful documents section on NES One.  However, we can provide printed copies if required.  Each hard copy will cost £35.00 plus £5.00 postage and packing.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has today published a series of papers setting out how they expect the proposed ‘Green Deal’ to work. The ‘Green Deal’ is the Coalition Government’s flagship policy for improving the energy efficiency of buildings in Great Britain and, according to Greg Barker, the minister of state for climate change, will be “the most ambitious energy-saving programme anywhere since the Second World War.”

Following a Freedom of Information request from PEPA (http://www.pepassociation.org ) CLG has issued two lists providing information on Display Energy Certificates (DECs).

From 1st May 2011 to 31st July 2011 NES is reducing the fee for registering Level 4 Commercial EPCs to the same price as Level 3.

All Level 4 Commercial EPC registrations will be discounted by £5 meaning that CEAs can lodge a Level 4 Commercial EPC report (existing build or on construction) for £20.36 plus VAT including the Central Register lodgement fee.

DCLG recently announced that an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will be required for holiday lets in England & Wales, effective from 30th June 2011.

As with all other requirements under the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), this guidance only applies to ‘qualifying buildings’ and specifically an EPC will not be required for mobile homes, caravans, tents, park homes or other temporary buildings.
