We are pleased to announce that NES has now received full approval from the Environment Agency to offer training, assessment and membership for ESOS Lead Assessors.

We have received a notification from Landmark of downtime to the England and Wales, and Northern Ireland, Domestic and Non Domestic Central Registers on Sunday 1st March.

The maintenance work will take place from approximately 10.00 until 12.00 on Sunday and you will not be able to start or finalise any domestic or non domestic reports during this time. You can still edit reports on NES one whilst Landmark complete their work.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has published a consultation on the future of Display Energy Certificates (DECs). One of the options outlined in the consultation is to completely abolish the need for DECs across 54,000 public buildings in England and Wales. You can download the consultation here.

As of April 2018, landlords will be required to ensure any properties they let have an energy efficiency rating of at least band ‘E’, the government has announced. This move is set to benefit fuel poor households, potentially reducing their annual heating bill by up to £880. 

Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Edward Davey, said:

“These new laws will plug the gaps in draughty homes – helping households to keep warm and drive down bills.”
