SAVA School of Surveying confirms RICS Global Director of Valuation for London Launch

The SAVA School of Surveying has announced that Global Director of Valuation for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Ben Elder, will be attending the London Launch of their new surveying diploma. On Wednesday 27th January, the school will hit the capital to introduce the Diploma in Residential Surveying and Valuation and Ben will offer his own unique insight into the industry.

Hilary Grayson, Head of Surveying Services at SAVA, comments:

“This is great news for SAVA. The diploma is fully supported by RICS, but nothing demonstrates that to prospective learners like a hearing it from somebody within the organisation.

“Ben is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of RICS with extensive expertise in the field and he’s sure to provide a fresh account of the industry as it stands today.”

Ben will be appearing at SAVA's 6.30pm - 8.30pm evening session only.

SAVA’s diploma provides the only vocational route into the residential surveying profession for those without a relevant undergraduate degree. With a blend of face-to-face and online learning, the school opens the door to prestigious RICS membership without the need to commit to full-time study. The course is specially crafted so that it directly satisfies the requirements for direct entry into RICS at Associate member level (AssocRICS) and provides valuable practical experience to ensure its graduates are both confident and competent in their roles.

In addition to RICS membership, the diploma also awards graduates membership to the SAVA Scheme to produce the Home Condition Survey. With these memberships, surveyors can choose to work independently, seek employment within existing surveying firm or consider working for a panel.

Steve Funnell, current learner at the SAVA School, says of the course, “I would recommend it to anyone. It’s a great course; well-structured, presented superbly and the systems are user-friendly.” Since undertaking the course, Steve has been offered a trainee position at a surveying firm who are supporting him through his qualification.

The London course begins in May 2016 and follows four successful intakes in 2015. The SAVA School of Surveying takes on a maximum of 150 learners per academic year, with just 40 places available in London.
