Introducing our new Energy Advice CPD modules
The Property and Energy Professionals Association (PEPA) recently released a policy statement announcing that members of the association will not be offering the new Level 3 Certificate in Home Energy Advice (often referred to as the Home Energy Advisor or HEA qualification).
NES thoroughly understand the background to the certificate, having previously developed training materials. From today we will instead be offering two online CPD modules that give you an overview of:
- How to make recommendations for basic improvements to the energy efficiency of dwellings
- How to gather information from householders on occupant factors and provide basic energy advice
PEPA suggests that Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) should think carefully before pursuing the qualification at this time.
Brian Scannell, Chairman of PEPA and NES Managing Director said:
“The qualification is being launched before the requirements of the Green Deal are known and at a time when there is little or no market for energy advice provision. PEPA members are concerned that DEAs may invest in a qualification that may not meet future market needs. For this reason PEPA members have decided that they will not be offering the qualification at this time.”
