Further update for Property Professionals/HIT candidates

Update: see our Home Inspector qualification page for more details.

We'd like to provide all candidates registered with Property Professionals/HIT with a further update:

Administrators

ABBE has told us that they have now held a discussion with the administrators. The administrators are working to produce an inventory of portfolios that are held at the Property Professionals offices so that they can contact candidates to make arrangements for them to be collected.

ABBE tells us that unfortunately the administrators are unable to provide a timescale for this at the moment. However, the administrators have confirmed to ABBE that they understand that the portfolio is the property of the candidate, and that it is imperative that they are returned as soon as possible so that candidates can continue with their qualifications.

The administrators have requested that candidates contact them to register their details. They have set up a helpline specifically for Property Professionals candidates: 08700 589050.

We can confirm that the administrators' contact details are: HJS Recovery, 12-14 Carlton Place, Southampton, Hampshire, SO15 2EA.

Refunds

If you arranged any finance to support you with training and assessment, you should contact the finance provider in case there is any chance of recovery of loss via this route. We are hearing from some people that they have had some success recouping some loss if they paid with a credit card.

ABBE Level 3 Non Domestic EPC candidates and Domestic EPC candidates

From the conversations that we have had to date, it appears that we can offer a simple solution that will assist a large number of trainees working towards both the Commercial Energy Assessor qualification and the Domestic Energy Assessor qualification. We will publish further details later today.

ABBE Level 4 Diploma in Home Inspection

As you know, we offer the Home Inspector qualification. At this stage it is difficult to give Home Inspector Candidates clear advice on how to complete the qualification as people seem to be at such different stages in the training and assessment process. We are working on a solution which will provide the range of support needed.  This will take a bit of time, so please bear with us.

Meanwhile, Home inspection candidates are also advised to register their details with RPSA (info@fpip.org.uk) who are set up specifically to support Home Inspectors and are currently exploring options for legal or other action.

Confirmation of registration status and examination results

As advised in the previous update, please contact ABBE at abbeenquiries@bcu.ac.uk for confirmation of the above.

ABBE has asked us to let you know that they are receiving a large volume of requests for this information and it may take some days for a response to be provided.  Please be assured that they  are working on this as a priority.
