Ed Miliband and Franny Armstrong visiting NES

Tomorrow afternoon (Friday 30 April) we have Ed Miliband MP (Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change) and Franny Armstrong (director of ‘Age of Stupid’) coming to our offices in Milton Keynes to give a short presentation and answer audience questions.

The theme of the event is climate change and environmental issues and we are inviting members who may want to question Mr Miliband on future policy and past delivery.

They will make a 15 minute presentation at 16:00, then take questions from the audience for up to 45 minutes. They will then take questions from the local media, and the session is intended to finish by 17:15.

If you would like to attend

We have a limited number of spaces available for individuals who want to attend. If you are interested, let us know by emailing registration@nesltd.co.uk and we’ll get back to you this afternoon to confirm your attendance.

If you cannot attend

Given the short notice, and the fact that you may work some distance away from Milton Keynes, it is understandable that not everyone will be able to attend who would like to. Please still send us your questions to the address above. We can’t guarantee that all questions will be asked, and we will be selecting questions that focus on DECC’s responsibilities, but we will do our best to get as many questions as possible answered.

We’ll report on the afternoon’s events on the NES Insights blog so you can see what questions were asked and what responses were given.

The Age of Stupid

Franny Armstrong is perhaps best known for her 2009 film, The Age of Stupid. Starring Pete Postlethwaite, it uses documentary, drama and animation to explore climate change issues and the importance of addressing them while we can. See the trailer below:
