Commercial EPC compliance shows no improvement

Each month we research EPC compliance for non-domestic buildings – the sector with the lowest compliance rates. We produce a monthly index in association with building.co.uk, showing how many commercial buildings being marketed have an EPC.A graph showing commercial EPC compliance up to April 2010

We have been seeing a small increase in compliance, building each month towards 50%. Sadly, in April our index dropped to 45%, showing just how much improvement needs to be made to reach industry expectations.

For over a year now it has been a legal requirement to have an EPC available to inform prospective buyers and tenants about the energy performance of the building. We hope our index will raise awareness of this requirement and to increase compliance rates.
