Commercial EPC compliance is 44%

Each month we research EPC compliance for non-domestic buildings – the sector with the lowest compliance rates. We produce a monthly index in association with building.co.uk, showing how many commercial buildings being marketed have an EPC.

In June we investigated 683 properties in Derby, Dorset and Derbyshire that have been on the market for more than 6 months and are larger than 50 sqm. June's investigation produced an overall compliance figure of 44%, a slight increase on May's 39%.

There is still much improvement to be made, and the challenge of informing prospective buyers and tenants about the energy performance of the building continues. By publishing our findings, we hope we will raise awareness of the EPC requirement and increase compliance rates.
