PBEA Accreditation

A Public Building Energy Assessor (PBEA) issues Display Energy Certificates (DECs) on public buildings (buildings occupied or part-occupied by public authorities or by institutions or organisations providing public services).

All PBEAs must be accredited before issuing energy certificates. To become accredited, PBEAs must demonstrate evidence of their qualification and competence to meet the National Occupational Standards.

Who can join?

Any qualified PBEA. You don’t need to have trained with NES and you can switch from another accreditation scheme at any time.

Benefits for PBEAs

  • Comprehensive Insurance
You will receive comprehensive Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance for all Display Energy Certificates and advisory reports registered with the scheme – so there is no need to carry your own cover. Read a summary here.
