Below are all the courses offered by National Energy Services that count towards a Commercial Energy Assessor's CPD requirements.

You can also see courses and modules that are appropriate for all members of the NHER Accreditation Scheme and SAVA Certification Scheme.

Some are training courses held in Milton Keynes, and some are online CPD modules that can be undertaken anywhere and at any time.

Fire Legislation and Risk Assessment

An overview of all legislation relating to fire, including the need for fire risk assessments.

Suitable for

All members

This online module gives you an overview of all legislation relating to fire, including the need for fire risk assessments.

You will learn about the necessity for training, use of equipment and how to identify correct equipment for the type of fire.

HVAC Refresher

A refresher for CEAs on heating, ventilation and air-conditioning.

Suitable for

Commercial Energy Assessors

This CPD module is intended as a refreshe/update for existing L3 and L4 CEAs.

In particular it provides detailed information on chilled ceilings, chilled beams and displacement ventilation, 'mixed-mode' operation strategy for HVAC, a reminder on how to combine data entry for separate heating and cooling systems in the same zone and the associated SBEM data for all three.

L4 CEAs will find it a useful refresher module, and L3s considering an upgrade to L4 will get a good indication of the type of sophisticated systems they will need to be familiar with at L4. An in-depth self-assessment is provided.

SBEM Recommendations

Dealing with recommendations from SBEM.

Suitable for

Commercial Energy Assessors.

This module is intended to provide Level 3 and Level 4 Commercial Energy Assessors with a more in-depth understanding of the recommendations procedure associated with building energy assessments carried out using SBEM – the Simplified Building Energy Model.

The main objectives of the module are to provide a full understanding of the protocol SBEM uses to generate recommendations, and to reinforce the understanding of the presentation of associated recommendation reports provided by the SBEM assessment method.

The module is interactive and incorporates a number of iSBEM exercises to assist with the learning process. The iSBEM files provided with this module are at version 3.3.c, an Accreditation Scheme beta test version current at the time of production. Assessors will need to convert these files to iSBEM version 3.4.a. (due for public release soon) in order to proceed with the exercises.

Commercial Building Construction

A refresher module on commercial building construction.

Suitable for

Commercial Energy Assessors.

This CPD module is intended as a refresher for existing Commercial Energy Assessors. It looks at some of the issues that might be proving problematic when assessing commercial buildings and offers additional material and guidance. It particularly focuses on the 'SBEM assessment' of these issues and the associated data entry required.

SBEM Masterclass

Using a real building, this one day event will focus on inspection techniques, identifying and applying the correct SBEM conventions in order to ensure that EPCs are as consistent as possible.

Suitable for

All Commercial (non-domestic) Energy Assessors.

There are some challenging commercial properties in a potentially very litigious market.  As the level of compliance in the market place increases and building owners begin to understand the implications of Energy Performance Certificates, it is vital that all commercial energy consultants are fully aware of the latest developments with SBEM.

Using a real building, this one day event will focus on inspection techniques, identifying and applying the correct SBEM conventions in order to ensure that EPCs are as consistent as possible.

This event is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified assessors alike. SBEM conventions are challenging and the event will give you the opportunity to discuss these with other energy professionals.

We will also take the opportunity to update you on any latest information on the compliance work we have been doing and on the latest with the new Commercial EPC report.
