Join our Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme

In order that everyone can value and place trust in their energy certificates and the essential advice they contain, it is UK law that all energy assessors and home inspectors are members of a Government-approved accreditation scheme.

NES runs two of the UK’s largest accreditation schemes:

The NHER accreditation scheme for energy assessors, with specific benefits for:

And the SAVA certification scheme for Home Inspectors.

We accept applications for membership from all energy assessors and Home Inspectors holding the relevant diploma issued by one of the Government’s approved awarding bodies. You don’t need to have trained with NES to join our schemes.

As proof of our commitment to quality we are justifiably proud of our ISO 9002 accreditation from BSI.

About our accreditation schemes

Building upon SAVA's reputation as a champion of residential property surveying standards, National Energy Services set up the SAVA certification scheme in 2006. It was the first such scheme approved by Government, and is still open to home inspectors qualifying from all assessment centres.

The NHER Accreditation Scheme was approved by Government in 2007 and is also operated by National Energy Services. We support the largest community of independent energy assessors in the UK, and regulate the production of EPCs for domestic and commercial properties.
