Commercial Energy Assessor
DCLG has written to PEPA to tell them again of their proposed changes to the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2007 (the EPB regulations).
They confirmed that although they had originally aimed to bring most of these proposed changes into force on 1 July, for reasons not stated this was not possible. The communication went on to say that still intend to bring the changes into force as soon as they can, but unfortunately did not give any indication of the revised time table.
Over the next few years the way legal services are offered and provided will change dramatically, thanks to the Legal Services Act 2007 (LSA) which comes into full force in October this year.
One of the main aims of the LSA is to allow new forms of legal practices to develop –
• Legal Disciplinary Practices (LDPs), firms involving different kinds of lawyers, and up to 25% non-lawyers, and
• Alternative Business Structures (ABSs), which will allow the external ownership of legal businesses (so called “Tesco Law”).
From 1st May 2011 to 31st July 2011 NES is reducing the fee for registering Level 4 Commercial EPCs to the same price as Level 3.
All Level 4 Commercial EPC registrations will be discounted by £5 meaning that CEAs can lodge a Level 4 Commercial EPC report (existing build or on construction) for £20.36 plus VAT including the Central Register lodgement fee.
