There is a lot of noise at the moment, particularly on Twitter, concerning the lifespan of the EPC.  This has been initiated by the move from IDEA (Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors) to start a petition with the aim to reduce the lifespan of an EPC from 10 years to 1.
